DEMOS – Center for Democracy, Creativity and Social Inclusion is a research and democracy promotion hub established in Paraguay, with an affiliate in Guinea-Bissau. Our mission is to:

  • Defend and deepen democracy by enhancing its quality.

  • Eradicate extreme poverty and reduce serious social inequalities.

  • Promote ecological awareness and management of natural resources.

  • Strengthen civil society and the representation of its most vulnerable social sectors.

  • Support a development model that fosters social inclusion and accountability, public sector transparency and efficacy, citizen participation, and respect for the environment.

To advance these goals DEMOS:

  1. Provides a space for research and civic initiatives that seek to further democracy and human rights.

  2. Contributes to the study and formulation of relevant public policies and civic activities.

  3. Encourages creativity and social innovation in its many dimensions, with particular emphasis on the development of various artistic expressions and transformative pedagogical methods.

  4. Promotes collaboration and coalition-building on various civic initiatives, especially with youth groups, the intellectual community, political and private sector leaders, grassroots activists, and public opinion makers.
